Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) – 4 Years

The first step to become a dentist is to complete Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), which is a four year programme. It is the most popular medical course after MBBS. Students who have completed their 10+2 in Science from a recognized institute will be eligible for admissions into BDS. Entrance examination will be conducted for admissions. A one year rotational internship also has to be completed by the students after completing their graduation.

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)

After graduation, students who wish to complete a specialization in order to stabilize their career can opt for a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). It is a two year programme and various specializations are offered to students as per their choice. Only those candidates who have completed BDS can opt for MDS.
